One Pot Pasta with Broccoli

  • 1 Italian sausage
  • 1/4 white onion
  • 500 g fresh pasta Pasta Factory Pene Rigate works well with this recipe
  • 2 cups veg or chicken stock
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 400 g butter beans you can also use cannellini beans or something similar
  • 1 head broccoli you can also use a bunch of broccolini if you can find it
  • 1 handful Parmesan cheese for garnish


  1. Remove Italian sausage from casing and crumble. Dice white onion.
  2. Saute the crumbled sausage and diced onion in a large pot on medium heat for 5 minutes.
  3. Add dry the stock, garlic, and salt to the same pot and allow it to come to a boil. Once boiling, cover the pot and reduce the heat to a simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Drain and rinse the white beans. Trim down the stalks of the broccolini. Cut broccolini into bitesize pieces.
  5. After the pot has simmered for 10 minutes, add the white beans and broccolini to the pot and simmer for another 5 minutes, covered once more.
  6. Cook Pasta Factory fresh pasta as instructed and toss with the delicious mixture.
  7. Serve the pasta in bowls garnished generously with parmesan cheese.
